We had a wonderful Christmas season celebrating the birth of Jesus and time with family and friends. We were able to get all 3 Christmas adventures in and they all were wonderful. A special thank you to all our family for all the gifts, food and memories made together. We went to VA to be with Grammy and Papaw this year...it was fun to be with all the cousins in VA. We enjoyed warm weather, time downtown and playing outside. Thanks to Grammy and Papaw for letting us stay and for all the great food. We thank God for another year and a wonderful Christmas holiday. It has been a busy fall. We celebrated Cousin Cy's birthday in October and the girls loved going bowling for the special day. We then headed to Western PA for Cousin Courtney's wedding...it was great to be with the LeViere family and all our church family. It was a quick trip, but such a great time. Congrats to Ray & Courtney. Then the end of October the girls loved dressing up as Cinderella and getting candy. Mommy and Daddy had to put Kate on a candy allowance for the week. The month of November has come and gone quick with the start of winter sports Kate looks forward to watching basketball. We look forward to Thanksgiving with family and pray the Lord will bless each of you this Thanksgiving season!

Well the girls were able to experience Lucas Oil Stadium for the first time this past weekend. The Mooresville football team played at the stadium and we all got to go! Kate loved being on the "fun grass" and wondered how they cut it!ha! Both Kate and Kinley loved picking the little black pieces of the grass too. The day was fun, the roof was open, but it was only complete with Kate getting cotton candy. She talked about it all week and the ride home was the best because of the cotton candy. What a great experience and time together!

First Day of Preschool 2011

We have been busy this fall getting settled (transitioned) to our temporary apartment in Indianapolis. We continue to grow in our faith as the Lord works to sell our home back in Warsaw. Kate has loved her new preschool and Kinley is walking and talking (grunting) very well these days. The pacifier is gone and the baby talk has begun! We love being close to family and have enjoyed the new memories for our family being close to grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles! Kate calls our apartment the "hotel" where we stay and she loves sharing a room for now with her sister. God is good and we have enjoyed downsizing for a few months. Oh...the joy!

Well the summer quickly got away from us after our family vacation in Florida. We came back and immediately made the move to Indianapolis for Daddy's new job. The Lord has been good and we are thankful for the opportunity to be closer to family and to serve in a new place where God has placed us. Upon arriving as always...Labor Day Weekend comes too fast. We had a wonderful time in Virginia for the Interstate Church of God Softball Tournament. The Lord blessed another great turnout of church teams for the tournament, as well as, a great offering to give to the mission field in Paraguay, South America and good weather!! Praise the Lord!! Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support for the mission work in Paraguay. Kate and Kinley loved being with Grammy, Papaw, Aunt Brooke, Uncle Tony and all the cousins! Due to Daddy's new job we were able to stay an extra day and be with family which was wonderful! We thank God for great weather and lots of church softball. Thanks to all our family for all their work with the tournament!!

Well it has been a few weeks....we were blessed to have the chance to go to Florida to visit Disney on Kate's 4th Birthday with Grandpa & Grandma Cole and Gigi & Pap! We were then able to go over to Siesta Key to be with Grammy & Papaw, Uncle Tony & Aunt Brooke and cousins...Tate, Mateya, Tregan and Mia. We had a wonderful vacation and cannot thank all our family enough for the wonderful memories that were made!

Kate and Kinley loved being in Orlando to start the trip...we had a great time with Grandpa and Grandma and Gigi and Pap visiting Disney. A special thanks to Gigi for watching Kinley!! Uncle Gary & Aunt Pam were wonderful and so helpful during our day at Disney (thanks Uncle Gary & Aunt Pam!). Kate loved all the rides, but she really enjoyed meeting Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White and many other Disney favorites!! She was able to wear a button that said it was her birthday and she had many people throughout the day stop to wish her a Happy Birthday! We loved being with Grandpa and Grandma Cole and Pap the whole day. What a special memory....and one that Mom and Dad will never forget!!

After our time in Orlando, we headed to Siesta Key to be with Papaw and Grammy Briscoe, Uncle Tony & Aunt Brooke and all our cousins. We had a wonderful time on the beach and at the pool each day. We took in many of the sights, but just enjoyed being LAZY! Kate and Kinley had a great time with the cousins and Tate & Mateya are becoming great big cousins who can watch the little ones. A special thanks to all the Briscoe and Holterman family for a wonderful time together too.

Kate & Kinley have been enjoying their cousins from Virginia this week...Tate, Mateya, Tregan & Mia came with Aunt Brooke who brought 35 middle school girls all the way from Virginia up to Grace College for basketball camp this week. We have loved having Brooke and the kids here this week. Kate & Kinley have loved playing with their cousins and catching up. We are so glad the camp has gone well for Aunt Brooke and that all the kids are having a good time. Kate will be talking "southern" before the week is over!:) We love you all!

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Kinley's 1st birthday and Kate enjoyed being the flower girl in Josh & Megan Neuhart's wedding on Saturday evening. It was a FULL day on Saturday...getting ready for the birthday party Saturday morning, getting to the birthday party, getting back home after to give Kate and Kinley a nap before being to the church early the wedding pictures and then the wedding. Needless to say...it all went very well! A special thank you to all our family for the gifts, food and help with the 1st birtday party...a special day with great memories. The evening was topped off with Kate doing a great job at Josh & Megan's wedding. It was a special ceremony and Kate followed the game plan walking all by herself! Thanks to all our family for all the help and support this weekend with the party and wedding! It was such a blessing to be with all of you!

June 3, 2011! How fast 1 year goes by...we thank God everyday for the blessing of Kate and Kinley being added to our family, but we reflect today as we celebrate the birth of Kinley Mae Briscoe on June 3, 2010. So many wonderful memories have taken place since June 3, 2010. The addition of another little one to our family has been special, it has been so much fun to watch big sister Kate interact, love, support, and smother her little sister. We thank the Lord for the opportunity to raise Kinley and appreciate all the love and support from our entire family and friends. Kinley is (walking) taking steps...a few at a time now. She can show you with her finger how old she is, she loves to clap her hands and shake her head when a song comes on the radio. She has a smile that lights up a room and a tender spirit. We pray God will continue to watch over her day and night and may Kinley come to love and accept the Lord in her heart as she grows in her knowledge of the Lord. You all know we will promise to raise her to be a Kansas Jayhawk and Grace Lancer fan! Ha! We will have her 1 year old party with family tomorrow...but today June 3rd...we thank God for this wonderful day and for bringing Kinley into this world to make a difference! We had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend with all the family in Indy. Kate and Kinley enjoyed going to church with Grandma while Grandpa, Daddy and Mommy went to the Indy 500 this year. A special thanks to Grandma for watching the girls during the race. We enjoyed visiting with all our family and were able to see cousin TJ & Amanda and their family on Memorial Day. They are getting ready to move to Florida for a new job opportunity. We wish them all the best as the Lord opens this new door for them in Florida. We also were able to celebrate with Aunt Abbie as she had her graduation party a week early. We spent most of the day on Saturday at Avon park with family and friends. Cyrus and Kate played for about 3 hours at the park. They had a great time together and slept really well that night! It was a great weekend and thanks to all the family for a wonderful time together! Cy...Kate misses you already!

It was a busy weekend...Kate on Friday had graduation from her 3 year old Kiddie Kollege class to the 4 year old class. She sang songs, received a certificate and had a great evening with her friends at the church. Mom and Dad are so thankful for her teacher Mrs. Hall who did a wonderful job investing in Kate's life and helping her grow in her knowledge of the Lord during the year. Mommy is sad that preschool is over for the year...love those 2 hours for Kate to learn...and for Mom to get a break! We thank God Kate's first experience with school was such a great experience in all areas of her life. G-Mom and G-Dad came up for the weekend to be here for Kinley's dedication service which was Sunday afternoon. It was a special day to dedicate Kinley Mae to the Lord and for Mom, Dad and Kate to commit before the Lord the part we all will play in helping Kinley grow in her love and knowledge of the Lord as well. We had a great service and time of fellowship afterwards. Each family that dedicated a child was asked to provide a life verse...for Kinly we chose Ephesians 1:18-19a "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people and his incomparable great power for us who believe." We thank God for the special memories from this week and pray the Lord will continue to grow in the lives of Kate & Kinley each day.

We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. We finally received some sunny warm weather at home! Mom was able to get away to have her nails done on Saturday for Mother's Day and we had a great family dinner after Church on Sunday. Kinley has now officially got to a place where she can stand on her own from sitting. No steps yet...but I am sure they are in the close future. She is in to everything and loves following big sister Kate around. Kate finishes up preschool this week. It is HARD to believe she has been in preschool for a year. She has loved her class and her teacher Mrs. Hall. We thank the Lord for Mommy who takes care of us and does so many things around the house! Well, Easter weekend came and went fast. What a wonderful celebration of our Lord! We enjoyed time with G-Mom and G-Dad, Grandpa and Grandma Cole, and all our family. Kate and Cyrus were able to spend the night with Grandpa and Grandma and we had a wonderful Easter dinner at G-Mom and G-Dads. As we celebrate the weekend, we thank the Lord for his ultimate sacrifice for all mankind. Wonderful memories made and time with family is priceless. Kate cried most of the way back to Warsaw...she did not want to go back. I guess the grandparents are more fun than Mom and Dad! Imagine that!! A special thanks to all the family for a wonderful weekend. Easter candy all over the house...ready for halloween.

We had a wonderful visit with Grammy Briscoe who came all the way from Virginia this past weekend to be with us. Kate and Kinley loved spending time with Grammy and going lots of fun places. Kate even had got to sleep with Grammy...little did Kate know that Grammy snores when she sleeps. Grammy was awakened the first night to Kate saying..."Grammy stop snoring I can't sleep." Grammy replied..."Kate I am so sorry, I will stop." The night continued and Kate once again said..."Grammy you snore too loud, I am going to go sleep with Mommy and Daddy." Grammy replied..."Kate lets don't bother them...I will wait til you fall asleep before I go to sleep." Oh, what fun we had with that story during Grammy coming to visit. Ha! We had a wonderful visit and appreciate Grammy coming to see us all the way from Virginia. Papaw we missed you and were sorry you could not come. We look forward to spring arriving here at home...SOON!!

Well...we are still waiting on spring to hit northern Indiana. Temps remain in the 30's and 40's and the girls are ready to get outside. We had spring break at the college this week and we were able to sneak away and go to the big mall on Friday. So much fun (for the kids) for one day...Mom and Dad are tired! Kate loved the carousel and playground! By the time we made it home we all were ready for bed, but not before watching KANSAS beat Richmond to move on to the NCAA Elite 8! Kinley had her well visit this past week and thank the Lord everything looks good. Kinley has not seen a meal she doesn't like, she eats like a horse and she is in the 90th percentile for height right now. Kate is singing in Church tomorrow with her pre-school class. She is so excited to sing with her friends in front of Mom and Dad. Pictures to come!

Shanna was Indiana Miss Basketball and holds the Indiana state scoring record at 3,085 points! She averaged 33.2 points per game for 4 years in H.S. Wow! It was fun to meet her today!

Well the snow has FINALLY stopped and we have seen the sun and began to receive the warm weather! PRAISE THE LORD! Only problem...the girls have continued to be sick. Kate is just getting over a cold and Kinley is going through another ear infection. Long days and short nights for Mommy and Daddy. We hope that the warm weather will bring healthy children too! Daddy has the big basketball championship and the girls were able to meet Shanna Zolman Crossley today. Shanna was Indiana Miss Basketball, played at Tennessee, all-time leading scorer in the state, and now plays in the WNBA. She is the chaplain for the tournament and we got to hang out with her today. Kinley continues to grow quickly...crawling everywhere and into everything. She loves to stand up on her own and play with her big sister. Kate has loved all the basketball and happy to get outside to play and rider her bike now. Mom and Dad are ready for their summer vacation already and look forward to spring break at the college next week. We thank the Lord for seeing us through the winter...with spring the Lord makes all things new and display of his might and power are displayed for all to see. We thank God for his blessings! Daddy picked Kansas in his bracket...again! GO KU!!

We are ready for spring! Another snow storm hit us this week and with about 6 inches of snow. Kinley is quickly learning to follow her sister...she has started crawling and now must be watched at all times. She is standing up in her crib and standing up in the bathtub. It has been another busy week and we look forward to the spring soon arriving. No more snowmen...ready for lightening bugs!

Well...the weather finally took a turn for the better. Kate's last snowman in the backyard took place last weekend...and this week it warmed up and melted all the snow. The change in weather also brought Uncle Doug & Aunt Connie from PA out to visit. What a great surprise for us!! We had a great time together for the weekend and the girls loved seeing Doug and Connie. Mom and Dad were excited too, they were able to get Ms. Stephanie to come over and babysit Sat. night so they could spend time with Uncle Doug & Aunt Connie. Kinley this past week for the first time decided to stand up in the crib to let us know she was awake...looking out she will be jumping out before we know it! A special thanks to Uncle Doug & Aunt Connie...such a blessing to be with you both this weekend. Ready for spring...no more snow!

Too much snow!

Well...another winter mix decided to descend upon Indiana yesterday. Mother nature dumped another 10 inches on us yesterday. Thank the Lord for a snow blower and a warm house. We stayed inside all day and Kate enjoyed getting out with Dad to clear off the drive way in the late afternoon. We can only catch our breath as another round of snow is to hit Monday night. Kate has enjoyed helping Mom do some cooking and she has enjoyed the Wii downstairs. We were able to get out to church today and Kate shared that she learned about Jesus today...no greater words to hear from your child! Happy Super Bowl Sunday to all. I sneezed and look what happened! HA!

The first blizzard to hit our area in a long time rolled in last night. We were blessed with about 14 inches and more on the way today. Love northern Indiana weather! All classes at the college were cancelled today and we were able to stay home and have fun with the family. Daddy was able to put to good use the snow blower from G-Mom and G-Dad that he received for Christmas! Thanks so much!! Kate and Kinley have loved watching all the snow fall and have been playing lots of games inside. Kate has taken her friends on an imaginary trip to Disney World each day for the past week. She is in her Disney world everyday...it is so fun to watch! Kinley is learning to eat more and more foods, she decided to sneeze after a bite yesterday and as you can see...she put it all over her and the kitchen! Have a great February, hope for no more snow...we are ready for spring!

We had a special event this week, instead of the regular Grace basketball game...we had the Harlem Globetrotters come to the OCC for a special event! It was fun to watch Kate as she enjoyed all the basketball fun surrounding the show and she loved watching Globie the mascot! The night was full of great dunks and cotton candy...it is all we have heard for the past two days. We were able to get our picture with Globie and Kate loved having a chance to meet him. The new year is off to a good start, Kate is back in school and loving it. Kinley continues to grow and survive her big sister each day. We thank the Lord for a new year all his daily blessings!

What a great Christmas holiday. We were in Virginia and Indy over the break and enjoyed time with all the family. Kinley's first Christmas was fun to watch, but also Kate at the age of 3 it was all "real" this year! All Kate wanted was a fishing pole...and that is what she got! Now she is ready to go fishing with Grandpa Cole this summer!! Virginia was wonderful this year...actually snowed on Christmas day for the first time in a LONG time. So fun to see all the cousins together! Tate, Mateya, Tregan, and Mia are doing great. We enjoyed roller skating with Uncle David, Aunt Megan, Cy, Nolan, G-Mom & G-Dad too on New Year's Eve! When Kate found out she was not good enough at the age of 3 to skate alone...you get the picture above! She is Miss Independent at age 3! Jamie's responsible for this one! I couldn't get the pictures turned the correct way but knew daddy would want to see his kiddos enjoying the Polar Bear Express Train Ride in Fishers anyway! The kids heard a story about a Christmas train ride and boarded the train to enjoy sugar cookies, hot chocolate, and meeting Mrs. Clause, Santa Clause, and the bear named Snowflake. Daddy, we sure missed you! We continue to lift Aunt Faye and the rest of the Tucker/Briscoe/Buchanan family up in prayer as we say goodbye to Uncle Jim. We have many beautiful memories of time spent with him and know we will see him again in heaven.

We had a wonderful weekend with our family. Kate & Kinley enjoyed staying at G-Mom & G-Dad's house and loved having cousin Cy & cousin Nolan spend the night before Thanksgiving. A special thanks to Uncle David & Aunt Megan for staying so Kate and Cy could play together! We also enjoyed dinner and helping put up the tree at Grandpa and Grandma Cole's house. It was great to be with all the family during the Thanksgiving holiday. As we pause to give thanks for so many things during the holiday season, we are constantly reminded that Gods blessings are more than we can imagine and he loves us more than we know! We are so thankful for our family and for all he has done! Kinley did continue to get sick over the holiday and we found out upon return and a doctors visit that she has an ear infection...medication and hopefully all will be back to normal in a week. Mom and Dad look forward to sleeping through the night! Kate love being with all her cousins and liked shopping on black Friday with Mom...she is learning early!! It is hard to think that we are in to the month of November. Kinley kicked off the month with a small cold that has stuck around. We went to the doctor to make sure everything was OK. Doctor says she is getting better, but it will take a few weeks. As the law of nature works, Kate decided to pick up the cold from Kinley has started to cough and feel tired. The joys of parenthood!! It has been a good month, lots going on with Homecoming at Grace last weekend and the big Cancer care tournament this weekend. We head to Indy this week as the Grace team plays at Conseco Tuesday night after the Pacers play. It will be fun to see all our family this week. Thanks for all the prayers for the girls as they get to feeling better!

We had a wonderful Halloween weekend. Grandpa and Grandma Cole came up from Indy for the weekend and went Trick-or-Treating with us. Grace had a fun fest on Friday and Kate dressed up as Cinderella for the indoor event. She got lots of candy and played all kinds of fun games. Saturday Kate dressed up as a pink poodle and Kinley went as a lady bug. We had a wonderful weekend with Grandpa & Grandma...we appreciate them coming up to see us on such a special weekend. They stayed and went to church with us on Sunday before going back home to Indy. Kate has enough candy to last her til Christmas...she will share with Mom and Dad after she goes to bed! ha! The fall continues to travel very quickly, but we are as busy as ever! Kate loves her preschool class and comes everyday with something new. She is beginning to try to write her letters and loves showing Mom and Dad all the things she makes each day. Kate has enjoyed the Grace soccer games and lots of popcorn! Kinley changes more and more each day. She loves to smile and loves to eat!! She can hold her head up now and is trying to roll over! We had G-Mom & G-Dad come up to visit last weekend and it was great to see them. Ms. Andria who works with Daddy at Grace their son Gaige had his 1st birthday and made it a family halloween party. Kate, Kinley and even Mom and Dad got all dressed up for the birthday party... we had a great time! Kate went as Cinderella and Kinley went as a smaller version of a Cinderella. We continue to see the beauty of the Lord displayed in the colors of fall! We praise the Lord for his blessings each day.

The fall continues to go quick, but it has been BUSY! Kinley just turned 4 months old (hard to believe) and had her 4 month check up this week. Praise the Lord she is doing great! She came in at 16 lbs 6 oz and 27 inches long...it keeps her in the 90th percentile for height and weight. We thank God Kinley is healthy and that she likes to eat! Kate continues to be a great big sister and is loving her time at Kiddie Kollege three days a week. She loves her teacher Mrs. Hall and has been the "star" of the day twice this fall. Kate loves going to school and meeting new friends and Mommy loves the 2 hour break! We thank God for his hand of beauty as the fall changes and the beautiful colors are displayed! Psalm 100:1-2 Shout to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with thanksgiving!

Miss Stephanie from the volleyball team stayed with us for a few days.

It has been a busy fall at the Briscoe household, but one we thank God for each day! Kate and Kinley continue to grow daily and we thank God for their health and the joy they add to our home. We had a tragic situation at the college last week. One of the freshman volleyball players Mallori Kastner was killed in a freak accident down by Winona Lake. We had several of the players stay at our home to get away from campus and Daddy had many funeral and memorial services to attend this past week. We had the team over to our home for dinner and we have been praying for Mallori's family. We were excited though the team won their first game back after the accident and God is being glorified through this tragic loss. Kate continues to LOVE pre-school at Kiddie Kollege. She loves playing outside and snack time....good to know she is learning! Ha! Kinley continues to grow fast...3 months has passed quickly. She has just found that she has a tongue and loves to stick it out at anyone who will show her theirs. Kate and Kinley enjoy the fall soccer and volleyball games on campus and love cheering for the Lancers! We pray everyone is doing well and pray the Lord will continue to bless each of you.

What a special weekend...where to begin! We first want to thank the Lord for his blessing for a special event in Roanoke, Virginia last weekend. The 33rd Annual Interstate Church of God Softball Tournament. The tournament started to in 1978 to raise funds for mission work in Paraguay, South America. We had 40 teams from 9 different states come to support the mission this year. We had a great time going home to Virginia to visit Grammy & Papaw Briscoe. Kate and Kinley loved the extra time with them and her cousins Tate, Mateya, Tregan, and Mia Holterman. Thanks Aunt Brooke and Uncle Tony for all you do this past week too!! It was great to see and be with all our family. Congrats to Pap, Grandpa Cole, Uncle David, and Uncle Justin! There church team from Westlake won the tournament this year! We are so happy for you all! Kate was very tired from the weekend, Kinley was a trooper just going along with the day and they both did great on the plane ride down. What great memories for a wonderful weekend. We love you all...it was great to see and be with so many family and friends!

We had a great weekend last week. Grandpa and Grandma Cole came up from Indy to help us "officially" finish our basement. Grandpa and Dad worked hard all day on Saturday to finish up the closet, cable, and carpet. Grandma helped Mom fix dinner for the men's soccer team who were coming over the next day. We had a great time with our family and thank them both SO MUCH for all their help and work to get our basement finished! Thank you both! On Sunday we were invited over to Prof. Gordon's house for dinner, boat ride, and jetski rides. We had a wonderful time at their house. Kate loved playing in the water and taking Mom and Dad for a jetski ride on Winona Lake. Thanks to Bill and Carole for their hospitality and friendship, we had a great time being at your home! It felt like a day vacation...good to have!

It has been a great month of July! We have had our family up to visit and we have been down to visit family in Indianapolis. We had a wonderful mini vacation last weekend in Indy. It was great to be with all our family and for Kate and Kinley to have grandparent time. Kate went with cousin Cyrus to see an Indianapolis Indians game...and loved seeing Rowdy the mascot! The transition at home from 3 to 4 has been great! Kate loves being a big sister, but teaching her not to smother Kinley has become a daily routine. Kate loves helping Mom and kissing Kinley in the swing. Kate also loves sticking her nose in Kinley's mouth...I am sure Kinley will get her back one day for that one. Kinley had her two week check up and all looks great. She is gaining weight and even getting longer! 98th percentile for height...she might have a chance! We had a great Father's Day at home, restful and just time together. We were blessed with Grandpa & Grandma Cole, Aunt Abbie, and Scotty coming by to see us on their way back to Indy. We had a great time together, it is fun to see everyone. Kate is quickly approaching her 3rd birthday...does not seem possible! Kinley Mae is making the wonderful transition to now being at home. Kate Marie is enjoying the responsibility of being a "helpful" big sister around the house too. We have been blessed with all our family being since our return from the hospital. Grandma Cole, Grammy Briscoe, and Papaw Briscoe have been up at different times the past two weeks. Thanks to each of you for all your help and support!! Kate has loved going swimming with Papaw, Grandma Cole fixed great meals, and Grammy Briscoe kept all the laundry done! We went to church for the first time as a family of 4 this past week. Kinley wore the same dress that Kate wore her first Sunday at Church. Grandma Cole was with us for the special day...Kinley slept through most of the service. Kate was happy to be back in her Sunday school class. Kinley has quickly made the change from day to night. The past few nights we have fed her around 11 or 12 pm and not heard a word until 6 am! Mom and Dad are LOVING getting some sleep!! Thanks again to all for your thoughts and prayers. We have our 2 week check up on Thursday...stay tuned!

We have had a wonderful experience at our hospital. The OB staff has been fantastic and we have been encouraged through fellowship with each of them during the stay. Kinley had another great night. She fed almost every 2 1/2 hours, which did give Mom and Dad some sleep through the night. Last night we spent time with Grammy Briscoe & G-Mom. GG & Pap came up to visit which was wonderful! We love our Gigi & Pap! Kate continues to want to hold her baby sister all the time and cannot wait to take her home to show Kinley her room. We continue to thank God for his blessing of new life in our family. We leave tired, but our faith is renewed and stronger from watching new life that can only come from God. Thanks again to each of you for all your prayers and support! We look forward to each of you meeting Kinley Mae Briscoe! Praise the Lord for his goodness and for his mercy that is new each day!

Kinley Mae had a great first night. She fed every 3 hours and slept great. We did not hear a cry out of her all night. We spent the evening with all our family celebrating the miracle of Kinley's life from the Lord. Uncle David, Aunt Megan, and cousin Cy came up late in the afternoon to be with all the family. It was great to see Kate and Cy play together!! The doctor and hosptial chaplain have been by this morning. The chaplain shared with us the following Psalm.

Kinley is a gift from God and we are so blessed to have her join our family. Kinley is enjoying lots of sleep and she is eating very good! The contractions began at 3 am this morning, but yesterday there was no room in the Inn at the hospital. Seven babies were born yesterday and due our not going into full labor they delayed the delivery by one day. So, June 3rd is the date. We arrived at the hospital at 4:30 am and should have a baby by this afternoon. WE had a wonderful day yesterday all together and were able to celebrate Grammy Briscoe's birthday last night at the Boathouse in downtown Winona Lake. We will keep you posted with the arrival of baby Briscoe later today! Thank you for all your prayers as we wait on Gods gift to arrive!

Well...no baby this weekend, but our Dr. appointment this morning shows that the baby is far enough along that we will deliver tomorrow (June 2nd) which is Grammy Briscoe's birthday as well. We enjoyed a wonderful weekend at home, watched the Indy 500 race on TV (Dad was sad he could not go to the race), watched Kate play in the yard, and we went for many walks! As the days get closer to the "Due Date" Kate has enjoyed helping Mom and Dad get things ready around the house and in the yard. She has been good at folding laundry, cleaning rooms, and helping dad clean up the yard.

She is quick to tell everyone that her baby sister is still in Mommy's tummy. All the recent visits to the Doctors office have been good and baby sister is still set to arrive on May 31st. We are all hoping for an early arrival so that Daddy can go to the Indy 500 with Grandpa Cole. We will keep you posted as we get closer. We had a great evening visiting with David & Marisha Pressley earlier this week. Marisha is expecting and due in July. It was great to see our close friends, we had a wonderful time of fellowship together. Thanks to everyone for their prayers as briscoe baby #2 gets closer to arriving. Stay Tuned...

Kate had a wonderful weekend in Indy with G-Mom & G-Dad Toombs for Easter! Kate enjoyed coloring eggs with G-Mom and taking a trip to the Trader's Point Creamery to see the cows and other animals. We had a wonderful Sunday celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus and Kate loved sunday school class. She wore her new pink easter dress that Grammy Briscoe bought for her in Virginia. After Church we had lunch with all the family and Kate enjoyed hunting for eggs with all her cousins! We then went over and saw grandma Cole and Aunt Abbie who just got back from Florida for spring break.

As the sermon shared this morning we are to live our lives as living testimonies to share about the Lord! What a blessing as a parent to know that we have the opportunity to impact the lives of our children everyday about what God has done for all of us! We pray you all had a blessed day! Christ has risen!!

It was great to have Grammy and Papaw visit from Virginia for the NCCAA Basketball Championship that Daddy hosted at Grace this past week. Kate was able to spend lots of time with Grammy and Papaw shopping and playing games at home. Kate missed her nap each day and will play catch up this week. She loved all the Grammy Gummies she ate and she enjoyed playing baseball with Papaw inside! Kate took Grammy and Papaw to Ft. Wayne on Sunday for lunch and to go shopping. Kate has been busy and is very excited for spring to arrive! She has been enjoying swim class every Monday with Mom and loves her Bible study class every Wednesday. Kate has enjoyed G-Mom and G-Dad, as well as, Grandma and Grandpa Cole and Aunt Abbie coming up to visit Warsaw the past few weeks. March Madness means busy time for Daddy as Grace College hosts the women's NCCAA national basketball championship. Grammy and Papaw Briscoe will be coming up to visit next week during the tournament. Kate continues to get used to a "baby sister" coming home this summer. Mommy continues to feel good, we had our latest check up yesterday and all is well! Mom scheduled due date is still May 31st! Kate is proud to announce that her mommy is going to have a healthy baby sister! She is very excited and graciously gave up her crib for the new baby and has spent this week getting used to her big girl bed. We explained in great length the first night in her big bed that she was not to get out of her bed without mommy or daddy helping her out. We also told her that if she needed something, she needed to call for us and we could get it for her. Just a few minutes after prayer and songs, we left her room and she started yelling,"Mommy, daddy, I need soooomethiiiiing!" We only had to go in 6 times the first night!! She has obeyed and stayed in her bed through the night and waits for us to get her in the morning by yelling,"Mommy, daddy, I'm awwwwwaaaake!"

Kate is also potty trained now. Yippeee for mom and dad! She still uses diapers at night, but wakes up dry in the morning! We are so proud of her and all the milestones she has conqeured over the last few months. She truly is becoming a big girl and can't wait to help with her new baby sister.

We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year celebration. We were able to visit with family and friends over the break in Indy. Kate has enjoyed a very busy end of November and beginning of December! We enjoyed Thanksgiving in Indianapolis with G-Mom, G-Dad and Uncle Justin and all our cousins, Kate then stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Cole and G-Mom and G-Dad Toombs while Mom and Dad went to Florida with the women's soccer team as they played in the NCCAA Soccer Tournament. Kate did not miss Mom and Dad at all -- all the Grandparents were much too fun!! Kate has enjoyed getting ready for Santa to come and to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus. No presents under the tree, they are all locked away as Kate wants to open them all right now!! She loves the lights on the Christmas tree and asks everyday when Santa is coming! Kate took Mom and Dad down to Indy to visit Cousin Cyrus for his birthday party this past weekend. We had a great time with Uncle David, Aunt Megan, and Cousin Cyrus along with all the family to celebrate his special day a week early! Kate had fun watching cousin Cy open all his presents...we love you Cy! Happy Birthday!

We were able to catch up with Cousin Joe, Cousin Lisa and Cousin Reece during our visit to Indy as well. It was great to see Kate and Reece play together. Thanks to Joe and Lisa for the hospitality and fellowship, we had a great time together! Kate loved jumping with Reece off his bed (working on their leg strength)!

Kate welcomed Grannma and Grandpa Cole and Aunt Abbie earlier this week. Aunt Abbie was taking an official visit day to see Grace College. We loved having Aunt Abbie on campus and it was fun to have all the family together! We are looking forward to going to visit Uncle Doug & Aunt Connie next week in PA!

Another Labor Day Weekend has come and gone which means another Interstate Church of God Softball Tournament has occured. We thank the Lord for a wonderful tournament, funds raised for the mission work in Paraguay, South America and lives changed at the worship service. Kate did well all week--leading up to the tourney. She loved seeing all her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many more family friends during the weekend. She loved cheering for Grandpa Cole, Uncle David, and Uncle Justin as they played for Westlake!

Kate loved chasing all her cousins during the softball tournament and playing in the dirt!ha.. WE had a wonderful time and thank the Lord for the wonderful weather and all the memories we made during the tournament. Uncle Doug's team (Ellwood City Church of God) won one of the brackets...congrats uncle Doug!! Thank you all who did so much to help make the tournament a success...we are ready to catach up on some needed rest!!

It was a special treat to have Papaw and Grammy take Kate and Tregan to their first Professional Major League Baseball Game. We were able to see the Reds vs. Nationals on bobblehead night at Great American Ballpark. Kate loved the fireworks, but mostly all the ballpark food! If there has been one "constant theme" for the summer it has to be the word...BARNEY! Kate has been hooked from day one and has come to love and embrace the purple dinasour daily. She loves his videos and loves to talk about him "constantly". If there is anything seen in purple, it must be something with Barney! Even last night as Kate enjoyed her favorite snack (Blueberries) she talked about her purple hands and how they looked like Barney.

It is fun to watch as her vocabulary grows and more words begin to pop up each day. Right now she likes to talk to Daddy on the phone during the day and tell him these three words: office, sucker, home. Translation...Daddy time to leave the office, bring me some candy, and come home! We thank the Lord for her continued growth and the joy she brings to our family. Uncle Doug and Aunt Connie made a visit to see Kate this past weekend. Doug and Connie LeViere are our family from Western PA. It was such a blessing to see them and have time to fellowship together. G-Mom and G-Dad Toombs came up and spent Friday and Saturday with Kate while Mom and Dad took Uncle Doug and Aunt Connie to Chicago to see a White Sox game. Kate enjoyed riding bikes and being with G-Mom and G-Dad while Mom and Dad were gone. Kate has enjoyed the warmer weather and being outside each day. She constantly wants to go to the "PAK" which means "Park" and she loves visiting with the neighbor's daughter Shelby. Kate has begun to play catch with dad, using her new gloves from Aunt Patty and Uncle David & Aunt Megan and loves cooking with Mom.

A new stage for Kate turning 2 years old and one thing that has started that we hope does not stay around very long...the purple dinosaur "Barney" has become a household name at the Briscoe's! Trying to fill time one day with a Barney video has now turned into countless hours of the Purple singer on our TV! We now add Barney to our prayer list at night and sing the famous "I love you...you love me" song! Kate turns 2 today! Happy Birthday Kate Marie Briscoe!! We had a wonderful time in Indy over the weekend celebrating Kate's Birthday with all the family. We want to thank each and everyone for attending the party and for all the wonderful gifts! It was one of the best rides back to Warsaw...she had so many new things to play with in the car!

A special thanks to all the grandparents for helping pull the party together with all the food! Thanks to Grandpa and Granma Cole for allowing us to use the pavilion at the Westlake Church. Uncle David and Aunt Megan had the hit of the party with a kid jump castle. Kate, Cousin Cyrus and Cousin Carsen loved jumping in the castle all morning. Kate enjoyed opening the presents, eating cake at 11am in the morning, and having a play ground near by!

We thank God for such a wonderful day with all our family and again want to thank everyone for such a great day.

Kate took Mom and Dad on vacation to the Outer Banks, North Carolina last week. It was great to be with Grandpa and Granma Cole, GiGi, Pap, Uncle David, Aunt Megan, Cousin Cyrus and Aunt Abbie! Kate loved going swimming with Cousin Cyrus everyday. We had a wonderful week with all our family and thank the Lord for great weather and time together. Kate loved being able to be with cousin Cyrus everyday...I am sure cousin Cyrus has loved getting away from Kate trying to hug him every minute of the day.

Oh yeah, and daddy says he will drive the limo when I go!!

Kate has been busy since Easter weekend. We had visitors from Sweden!! Henric's grandfather Gunner and Lars Svensson, daddy's close friend from when he played in Sweden. kate has enjoyed the end of baseball and softball season at Grace College. She loves chasing the yellow softball balls and playing with all the kids! The wonderful, ever changing northern Indiana weather continues to play with our emotions of summer finally arriving! Kate wants to spend time outside and loves picking up new words each day. She has been helping in the kitchen and loves to help clean up the house.

Kate had a great EASTER weekend in Indianapolis with all the family. We had a great time with Grandpa, Gramma Cole & Aunt Abbie. Kate loved following Aunt Abbie around the house. We also had a great time with G-Mom, G-Dad & Uncle Justin, along with Uncle David, Aunt Megan and cousin Cyrus. It was fun to see all the family and have time together to celebrate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We had a great church service on Sunday and lots of good food with all the family. Kate had fun playing with cousin Cyrus...it is so much fun to see them together! Thanks to all the family for a wonderful weekend, we had a great celebration! Kate took Mom and Dad on Saturday morning over the recreation center on the campus of Grace for the annual kids day Easter egg hunt! The gym was filled with lots of fun games and Kate loved hunting for Easter eggs. She ran into all of her friends and had fun chasing them around. Her new word...which is uses on a regular basis "NO" was used quite frequently in not wanting to leave playland. We allowed a granparent moment of her eating some of the candy in the eggs she found. We had a great day and look forward to going down to Indy for Easter Weekend next Friday! We have begun to share with Kate the reason for Easter and she loves to talk about Jesus!! We thank God for sending his son to die for our sins! Happy Easter!!

Kate took Mom and Dad down to Indy last weekend to see Grandpa & Grandma Cole, G-Mom and G-Dad Toombs, Aunt Abbie, Uncle David, Aunt Megan and cousin Cyrus! We had a great time stopping in Muncie to see Miss Judy and all of Dads friends at Ball State. Mom and Dad dropped Kate off with all the grandparents and then went downtown to stay the night. Mom and Dad enjoyed the R&R and Kate loved being with all the grandparents. Kate had so much fun she did not want to come back home with Mom and Dad! Spoiled once again by the grandparents...which is allowed!! Thanks to everyone for all the help with Kate, we had a great time being in Indy with all the family.

Grammy and Papaw Briscoe came up from Virginia for the NCCAA National Basketball Tournament that Daddy helped host at Grace College this past weekend. Kate had fun playing with Grammy and Papaw all weekend. Grammy took Kate shopping in Ft. Wayne on Thursday and loved playing with Papaw at the basketball games. We enjoyed the weekend with family and even Uncle Chuck was able to come over and visit from Ohio for the tournament as well. Kate received visitors this past weekend. G-Mom and G-Dad Toombs came up from Indy on Friday night and stayed. Kate enjoyed "putting on a show" for the grandparents all evening. Mom is getting over a cold that has lasted all week, and we are looking forward to the arrival of Grammy and Papaw Briscoe from Virginia who are coming up for the NCCAA National Basketball Tournament at Grace this weekend. Kate decided to sign up for swim lessons at the YMCA and she has loved every minute of it. Mom and Dad always enjoy bath time each night because Kate loves the water so much! She is learning to blow bubbles and of course splash! She loves singing songs in the water as well, when Mom and Dad stop singing she gets upset.ha! We look forward to GMom and GDad coming up this weekend then Grammy and Papaw Briscoe come next weekend for the NCCAA National Tournament at Grace College. Kate has officially declared that she is ready for spring. Tired of being inside and ready for warmer weather. I believe Mom and Dad agree with her as we've watched our share of "Frosty" this January! Kate signed up for swimming lessons and had a ball this past week. She did not want to get out or leave the pool. She quickly learned that she could jump to Mom and everything would be OK. She continues to speak her own language, but can put words together which is fun to hear. Stay tuned, hopefully swim pictures coming soon!!

Kate had a few visitors the past few weeks. Grandpa and Gramma Cole, Aunt Abbie, Uncle David, Aunt Megan, & Cousin Cyrus came up to see a Lancer game last weekend which was great! It was fun to play with Cousin Cyrus and see all the family. We also had one of Daddy's college friends, CJ and Shelley Hitz from Ohio, stopped by on their way to a church conference where they were speaking. It was great to see them and catch up and hear all about their ministry work. We thank God for their friendship and for all the Lord is doing through both them to reach young people. We received a bit of warm weather this week and I am ready to go outside and play... I am looking forward to spring! I have been helping Mom and Dad redo the guest bathroom, oh what fun!! Kate was blessed to have Uncle Doug & Aunt Connie visit from Western PA this past weekend. Uncle Doug brought Kate a new Pittsburgh Steeler mug and Aunt Connie brough Kate & her Parents some Steeler Chips for Super Bowl Sunday. Kate enjoyed going to the game with Doug and Connie and she loved showing them how she can get in and out of her chair with no problems. Kate enjoyed learning how to say their names before they left too! Mom and Dad loved having time with Uncle Doug and Aunt Connie, Kate stayed home with Miss Amy while Mom and Dad went to dinner with Uncle Doug and Aunt Connie. Doug and Connie have been a blessing in our lives, they are our family and a part of everything we do. We thank God for their friendship and Godly wisdom! It was wonderful to be with them...Doug and Connie THANK YOU for coming to visit! We love you and miss you...if the Colts cannot win the Super Bowl...go STEELERS!!

January Snow in Northern Indiana

Since returning home after the New Year we have been covered in lots of snow and ice. We ventured outside Sunday afternoon to let Kate play in the snow after Church. She loved wearing the snow suit that Grandpa and Gramma Cole gave her this winter. She just had her 18 month well-baby visit and all the family will be happy to know she is in the 50th percentile for HT and WT now. It is a great jump from the previous 10th percentile she hung around for several months. Mom is feeding her well and she continues to grow which we thank God for each day. We plan for her to be a 6 foot basketball player...I don't think so, maybe a 5'4 soccer player if we are lucky!ha. She has enjoyed playing with all her new Christmas gifts and Mom loves dressing her up in new clothes each day. Happy New Year to everyone, may God richly bless each of you in 2009!

Sorry it has taken so long to write! We made the trip to Virginia to be with our Briscoe family this year and we finally slowed down enough to add to the blog. Our family had a wonderful time in Virginia while celebrating Christmas in Indy before and after with the Cole and Toombs family. Ice storms and thunderstorms aside, it was a wonderful celebration with all our family and we thank everyone for all the wonderful memories!! Kate enjoyed ripping paper this year, probably more than finding out what gift was inside. She also was very peticular about throwing away every piece of gift wrap before she would open another gift! Kate made the memorable trip to the mall to have her picture made with Santa, and as we suspected, what an experience!! We will forever cherish the picture of her on Santa's lap. The funny part was as soon as we took her off his lap she started waving bye bye to him as fast as her little hand would wave! Kate had fun with all her cousins during the holiday, and Kate loved following Tregan around as he played basketball. Tate, Mateya, and Tregan kept Kate tired for Mom and Dad which meant she slept very well at naps and bedtime. We attended wonderful Church services and enjoyed celebrating the REAL meaning of the season. We thank the Lord for sending his Son that we might have life! Thanks again to everyone who made this Christmas season so special. Kate now refers to Santa as "HO-HO" and loves touching his white beard (at least grammy's fake santa!). We wish everyone a very blessed New Year in 2009! More Christmas pictures to come!

Ok, Jamie's turn to write!

I had to share the story of our eventful trip down to Roanoke. We drove into a bad ice storm after we crossed the Ohio border on Saturday evening before Christmas. We passed eight cars in the ditch, and many semi trucks were creeping with their hazards flashing. We decided that we would drive to Dayton and try to stop. Chad decided we could just "stop by" our friends, The Kelley's house in Dayton and ask if we could stay the night. I was worried about how Kate would sleep since we were not traveling with a pack-n-play for her to sleep in. We also were not sure if our friends would have a full house of their own family for the holidays. We were welcomed with open arms to stay the night and Mrs. Kelley mentioned that there was a crib set up in the guest room! God knew the need for Kate and mom and dad to get a good night's rest, and He provided a wonderful place to stay the night. We joked with the Kelley's and said they didn't know they were going to have baby Jesus knock on their door looking for a place to stay! Thank you Lord for providing the Kelley's, and thank you Kelley's for your wonderful hospitality! The beauty of God's provision even to the tiniest detail of a crib in the Kelley's guest room makes me certain of God's faithfulness and caring about even our smallest concerns.

We were blessed this past week to have visitors from Sweden come and stay with us. Henric, the Swedish Golf player who is studying at Grace College had his sister and her friend come to stay for 4 days. They arrived last week and spent 5 days in New York and then came out to Winona Lake to visit Henric. We had a wonderful time visiting and shopping during their visit with us. Henric finished up the semester and they are heading back to Sweden tomorrow. They are spending two days in Chicago before they head back. It was fun for Kate to practice her Swedish and fun for us to have visitors. We thank the Lord for bringing Henric to Grace, Kate has enjoyed finding an older brother! Emelie and Anna, we appreciate you coming to stay with us and we pray you all have a wonderful GOD JUL (Merry Christmas in Swedish)! We are heading to Indy this weekend and then on to Roanoke, VA to be with Chad's family for Christmas this year. We look forward to Kate sleeping through the nite as we travel. Talk to you soon!

Kate took Mom and Dad down to Indy on Saturday for the Toombs Christmas Brunch on Sunday. We had a great time staying with Uncle David, Aunt Megan and Cousin Cyrus. Thank you for opening your home and allowing us to stay. Kate enjoyed playing with her Cousin Cyrus and all his FUN toys. Kate and Cyrus are at the fun age of following one another, watching one another, but not sharing with one another...yet!ha.. Thanks David and Megan for a wonderful evening. We were at Lance and Kristie Ertel's home for the brunch and all the food was great. It was a blessing to have all the family together and see all the grandkids together. We watched the Colts win and headed back to the snowy, cold north. We are looking forward to heading south for Christmas this year... Virginia see you soon!

It was great to see the new Lucas Oil Stadium and for Kate to have time with Aunt Abbie. We ate breakfast with G-Mom, G-Dad, Uncle Davide, Aunt Megan, Cousin Cyrus, Uncle Justin, & Miss Tracy before the game, it was great to see everyone. When does the snow come?

Well the fall has quickly given way to winter in Northern Indiana and basketball is off and running once again. We celebrated Homecoming at Grace this weekend and Kate loves watching basketball. It is a different year...no sitting and watching! Kate wants to be moving around and is still learning she cannot participate yet, she is too young!ha. Thanks to G-Mom and G-Dad for coming up and watching Kate while Mom and Dad had the Hall of Fame banquet on Saturday. We wish Grace all the best for a great basketball season!
