Kate welcomed a lot of family up to Winona Lake to visit for the weekend. Grandpa and Granma Cole, Aunt Abbie and Uncle David, Aunt Megan and cousin Cyrus all came up from Indy on Saturday for the basketball game- (Grace beat Goshen). It was fun to see Cousin Cyrus and Kate together again-Cyrus likes to sleep...but is getting better each day-he soon will pass Kate and be the big protective cousin that she needs! We also had Uncle Doug & Aunt Connie come over for the weekend from Ellwood City, PA! We had a great time staying in on Friday night and Saturday night catching up with wonderful fellowship time. Kate received a really nice RED winter jacket from Uncle Doug and Aunt Connie-Dad wants Grace Lancers put on it-Mom says NO!Ha.. It was great that everyone had the chance to be together on Saturday for the game. Uncle Doug and Aunt Connie headed back to Western PA Sunday morning. We thank all the family for coming up to visit!! We love you all!!

Kate is feeling better-her first "real" cold has been a long process and is getting better-she did pass it along as both mom and dad are feeling the affects. Say a prayer that the cough and runny nose leave soon!

6 Month Check Up

Kate had her 6 month check up this past week and it was another great visit! She has slowed a lot in the weight department as she checked in at a slim 15 lbs. 9 oz. She dropped from the 90th percentile to the 45th percentile. The doctor said all looked well and Kate is in good health. We thank God for another excellent well-baby visit. Just after the 6 month visit, mom took her to get her next round of shots and then somewhere along the way, either at Church or MOPS, Kate picked up a bug and is now officially "sick". Let us tell you-it is NO fun! Nighttime is the hardest because she is so congested!

Well Kate rang in the new year...sleeping! We also woke up to lots of snow! We spent New Year's Day at home watching football and taking it easy. Mom made great food and we stayed in doors as we were hit with 8 inches of snow and ice. Kate goes to the doctor for her 6 month check up today...stay tuned for the weigh in!! Happy New Year!!

We were blessed the weekend before New Years to have Jeff Miller and Sid Sawyer come visit from the Falkville, AL Church of God. It was great to have the guys here and we had a wonderful time of fellowship together. We spent Saturday showing them around Winona Lake and then after church on Sunday they headed back to warmer weather! We thank both of these great men for taking time out of their schedule to come and visit. We love you guys!

We had a great time catching up with several family and friends after Santa came to visit. We were able to see Chad's roommate from College-Chris Dubois. We visited with Chris, Lael and their two boys: Dalton and Dane. It was great to see their new home and have time for the boys to see Kate. We also were able to meet the Slyder family...Taylor, Mallory and Allie are going to be great baby sitters as Kate gets older. We were finally able to see Cousin Joe and Lisa Davis and cousin Reece--it was fun to finally get the two of them together! There will be many play dates for cousin Reece and Kate in the coming years. We shared many parenting stories with Joe and Lisa over dinner which was great for mom and dad. We also met Drew and Stephanie Anderson for breakfast. They were up visiting family in Ft. Wayne from Florida, so we had breakfast at Bob Evans and it was great for Kate to finally have the chance to meet them. We appreciated Drew and Steph making time in their busy holiday schedule. We had a great time catching up with so many close friends--thanks to everyone for making time to visit!

Kate enjoyed time with the Cole and Toombs family to celebrate her 1st Christmas. She enjoyed spending time with all her family and tearing paper!! Kate's Mom & Dad spent the entire Christmas giving thanks for the blessing of her life...which was the greatest gift of all. Kate for the most part slept well and you know she always eats good-no problems there!ha.. Thank you to all our family for making her 1st Christmas so special!!
